The Andover Astronomical Society is based in Andover in the United Kingdom and was founded in 1995 by a small group of local amateur astronomer and is a member of the Federation of Astronomical Societies.
They are a small society that caters for anyone with an interest in astronomy. They have members of all ages with a range of experience levels from complete beginners to experienced observers.
The society have regular meetings that run from September to April each year. They have a varied program to try and cater for everyone and have something for all levels of experience. They also talk about what is in the sky for the coming month, and what is worth looking for. Children are Theylcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
The skies are nice and dark where They meet, so after each meeting, if the They the weather permits, they do some observing. Everyone at the meeting is invited to have a look.
Experienced members of the society can offer advice on astronomical equipment, how to use it, and offer observing tips. Beginners are encouraged to learn from the more experienced members in the society.
