The Orion VX14 telescope is 50mm (2”) larger in aperture than the VX12 models and has significantly more light grasp, 36%. This allows much fainter objects to be seen, more visible fine detail in objects and, faster CCD imaging times. This model offers stunning performance from a 350mm telescope. The VX14 along with all other models in the VX series, is the culmination of combining many of the quality features of Orions' optical tube assemblies and supersedes the Dobsonian, Europa and SPX ranges of telescopes which, are now, offered in the single, yet adaptable, VX range. This telescope is an excellent system for devoted astrophotographers. The greatest results will be attained by utilizing the Televue Paracorr coma corrector that guarantees pinpoint stars to the very edge even with larger CCD chips. Due to its moderate weight, the Newtonian can still be carried by affordable equatorial mounts.
